About Anna

I’ve had my own struggles with alcohol, so I understand that doing anything to excess will eventually come at great personal cost. Now almost two decades in recovery, I feel loved, loveable and contented, without needing a substance to cope with life. This lived experience enhances my ability to connect on a deeper level, fostering trust and resilience throughout the therapeutic process.

I’m a highly-skilled and compassionate addictions counsellor, and qualified individual and group clinical supervisor. Having worked extensively in the private, public and charity sectors at some of the most renowned treatment centres and clinics in the UK, I’ve dedicated my career to supporting individuals and families affected by various forms of addiction, including substance misuse, alcohol dependency, gambling and compulsive behaviours.

I hold a first-class honours degree in Addictions Counselling from the University of Bath, and employ an integrative therapeutic approach, utilising techniques such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing and Relapse Prevention to facilitate meaningful change. My person-centred, empathetic and trauma-informed approach ensures a safe, non-judgmental space for you to explore your own challenges and work towards recovery. I’m an accredited member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) and Addiction Professionals (AP APM)

I was presented with a Marsh Trust award for “Exceptional Individual in the Field of Recovery”, alongside Amy Liptrot, author of the book turned BAFTA-nominated film, The Outrun.
